Batticaloa Dutch Fort

Batticaloa Dutch Fort

Built by the Portuguese in 1628 and later captured by the Dutch, this historic fort features four bastions and is surrounded by the Batticaloa Lagoon and a canal. It remains in good condition and houses several local administrative departments.

Batticaloa Gate
